john 3

JUNE 30, 1962 John Calhoun Brassell III was born.
November 2, 1986 he became my dad.
That was 24 years ago, the age i am today. i can only hope that i can
prepare and live
to be just like him

now, usually i'm against bragging posts. but i know my dad likes to take a sneak at my blog every so often and his birthday is tomorrow, so i'm hoping he will read this (:

john III, my dad. what a great man! in fact, i'm so grateful that he's my dad that i tend to share with with all my friends, and he has been a dad to many of them. just the other day the bishop asked me what i looked for in a guy to date and i said someone like my brothers who grows to be [someone like my dad]. i say, he sure is a jack of all trades. so well rounded of a guy, there is nothing he can't do! the man who says it's impossible, is usually interrupted by [my dad] doing it.

whether its ... installing a new transmission, cooking his famous coconut shrimp, taking down a couple 90ft trees from our backyard by himself, framing and painting the house, driving tractors, moving 100's of rocks and boulders, sheet rocking the house, landscaping the yard, shoveling the snow on our driveway and the neighbors, installing the electrical wiring, giving all the institute kids dating advice, rebuilding a 4 wheeler for spencer, coaching in basketball and soccer, building a barbie house for my 7th birthday, roofing and construction, dancing with the girls in the kitchen, tutoring us kids in ALL school subjects, building soccer goals for jordan, installing "bad boy " alert detecting system, cementing, building a hammock up in the trees out of haybale twine , creating the best pinewood derby's for the boys in scounts, singing, bow hunting and dressing, fishing, sailing catamarane, grappling, touching an alligator in the wild, writing his own story, institute and seminary, speaking spanish, repelling, fixing and flipping cars, finishing every crossword puzzle, donald duck impersonating, traveling, beating everyone in chess, ping pong and foosball, taking apart a computer to rebuild it, giving solid advice, helping people and setting them straight, fixing every appliance in the house, to answering every gospel question i have ... my dad does it.

i love you dad.
love,
britania
